A practical answer to the 100-metre barrier

Modern enterprise networks need to connect and power more devices at the edge, including security cameras, access control panels, wireless access points and other operational technology. Many of these devices are positioned further from the nearest telecommunications room than the 100-metre limit supported by conventional Category 6 and 6A cabling.

GigaREACH XL provides an extended-reach UTP solution that can reduce the need for additional telecom rooms, PoE extenders, media converters, booster boxes and supplemental power at the far end.

Fits into familiar structured cabling practices

GigaREACH XL cables and channels are designed to integrate with structured cabling architectures and use the same installation tools, procedures, panels and jacks as the SYSTIMAX GigaSPEED family.

A CommScope modular plug can also be terminated directly onto the cable to create a Cat 6-compliant and testable Modular Plug Terminated Link (MPTL).
